Advanced Master of Science in Deglutology

The Faculty of Medicine of KU Leuven, Belgium, is delighted to welcome selected students to join the Advanced Master of Science in Deglutology. This one-year academic programme in Deglutology, the science of swallowing, stems from a range of unmet requests from students, clinicians and researchers. Graduates will obtain a European degree from a top-ranked university at a reasonable tuition rate and be fully-trained professionals thanks to the enhanced clinical training at our JCI-accredited University Hospitals Leuven.
Deglutologists are immediately able to focus on the integrated care of patients with lifelong or newly onset swallowing disorders in the mouth, throat or oesophagus and will have gained valuable intercultural skills thanks to their stay in the heart of Europe.
Courses start at the end of September, are taught in English and can be followed full time or part time upon request (60 credits according to the ECTS system are awarded). The theoretical courses are clustered on Mondays and Tuesdays and in evening lectures. Multidisciplinary clinical internships will be tailored where possible to the need of the student. This allows for a flexible combination of the programme with other activities such as part-time employment.
The programme still accepts applications for intake in September 2019, also from non-EEA-citizens requiring a visa. Application instructions as well as more details about the programme are available on the website Questions about the content or structure of the programme?
